Problems following the CPU upgrade.
Problems following the CPU upgrade.
Hello, everyone: I hope this message finds you well. I’m new to the community, so I’m posting here because I recently purchased a Xeon x3450 CPU to boost performance after my previous Core i5-660. The case was set up with the same stock cooling solution that came with the i5, and everything seemed normal at first. However, I quickly realized the temperature spiked to around 95°C. That’s when I decided to upgrade to a tower cooling heatsink. When I powered on the machine, it failed completely, displaying a black screen. After resetting it, the BIOS screen appeared, showing the Manjaro GRUB and attempting to boot Windows. The screen went dark abruptly. I observed the CPU fan running extremely slowly and noticed the heatsink was excessively hot. I chose to shut it down to prevent further damage. Once in BIOS, I saw the CPU temperature reported as -20°C (-68°F). I’m still trying to figure out what’s going on while typing this. Do any of you have similar experiences? Please share your thoughts or advice.
Thanks a lot for your help! Have a great day/night.
Thanks for the update. I tried a different GPU and it now displays the right temperature. Likely the GTX is involved...
