Problems following a fresh OS installation
Problems following a fresh OS installation
My cousin purchased a harassement packard laptop just last week. It arrived yesterday. It came with Windows 11 pre-installed but ran very slowly because of unnecessary software. He reformatted and reinstalled the latest Windows 11 version from Microsoft’s site. There were only a few problems—even after reinstalling, the extra programs would reappear with updates. When we tried to clear those folders, we encountered this error: https://imgur.com/a/1824jgU How can I remove these files? Since he has admin rights, he used an O&O10 command after reinstallation to hide and delete unwanted items from Microsoft. Could that be the reason for this issue?
In the original Windows, he was able to choose the display language as English (US) or English (Our Country). However, the current version indicates only one language is supported. The Windows status shows it’s activated. Is this a deal-breaker? Would the Windows 11 US edition allow changing the display language here?
P.S. He contacted harassement packard’s customer support. A representative said that as long as the BIOS remains from them, these programs will continue to auto-install with each update because Microsoft has an agreement. Removing them would void the warranty.
It doesn't function properly. The system has 8GB RAM, but the Ryzen 5600H will require further verification from the person.
I haven’t purchased or worked with HP laptops or prebuilt systems, so I’m not familiar with the software in question. You should check your local consumer protection regulations to understand your rights. It seems HP products come with their own support options.
The level 4 perspective appears valid. The presence of such bloatware across all laptops—Lenovo, Dell, and others—is concerning. Once BIOS updates are applied, these unnecessary features typically persist unless actively removed.
I also have Lenovo Vantage installed on my laptop. It doesn’t significantly affect performance, so I kept it unchanged. At the very least, I don’t feel a major slowdown. I use it for managing charging limits and fast-charging settings, or for adjusting keyboard lighting occasionally.
