Hello everyone, I’m facing some challenges setting up my new Asus TUF 3080. It was bought on Saturday, May 3rd, from a Gigabyte 1080 Ti system. My current setup includes: Ryzen 5 3600 processor, Bequiet! Dark Rock Slim cooler, Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite, Wi-Fi G Skill Trident Z 2x8GB, 3600Mhz EVGA Supernova 750G2, two VGA cables (6+2 pin), a 500GB Samsung NVMe drive, a 250GB Crucial SATA SSD, a 2TB HDD, and four 5-inch case fans from Corsair C70.

The problems I’m experiencing are: booting is slow after installing the new GPU, Windows feels sluggish to start up, it freezes during login attempts, and after a restart it doesn’t POST properly. If I revert to the Gigabyte 1080 Ti, these issues disappear.

I’ve tried several fixes in order:
- Ran DDU in safe mode with the latest 3080 driver from Nvidia (still no improvement).
- Installed the latest BIOS update from Gigabyte – Windows logs in but responds very slowly.
- Started Windows in low resolution and safe mode; nothing changed.
- Swapped the GPU with another 3080 model today – boot time improved, but it froze after logging in and then slowed down after restart.
- Reinstalled Windows 10 from local files; still no POST.

I have a second system I haven’t tested yet. If you have any insights or additional details, I’d really appreciate your help.

An interesting one this. I've got a Tuf 3080 on a MSI tomahawk x570 with a 750w EVGA PSU. I've got a 5900, though, but for comparison it should not make much of a difference. If you can't even post, we know that single issue has nothing to do with the OS... unless you mean it does not load windows? For a post issue, I'd look at the seating of the card in the PCI-E slot as I've had issues odd issues form this in the past. Also a good idea to check the seating of the power cables. If you can get into windows again even though it will take a long while, try to see what all your components are running at in task manager or something like OCCT.

I've checked the issues repeatedly between my PC and my wife's, and it seems the PCIe x16 port isn't working properly.
