Problems during fresh Windows 10 setup User encounters issues while installing Windows 10 for the first time.
Hello everyone! I attempted to reinstall Windows on my GS43VR but encountered an issue. I removed all partitions until only the SSD and HDD remained. After clicking "Next" and it said "prepared the files," I ended up going back to the start. What went wrong? I’m feeling really tired and making mistakes. Sorry!
Are you referring to the earlier storage sections? You need to prepare the drive by formatting it again before installing Windows with new partitions.
Existing partitions can be modified, though the process is fast and doesn't permanently delete the data. To create a new partition, simply click "New" after erasing all partitions. If you prefer a more thorough cleanup, use the CMD tool to opt for a full format instead of quick format. Once the desired partition is selected as the primary, it will install the operating system.
I managed to resolve the issue. It seems you didn’t remove all partitions, and Windows handled it automatically now. Removing the thumb drive helped, which was unexpected. Everything is working properly now!
You're correct, but during a Custom Install you'd remove the existing partitions, set up new ones, format them, and then proceed with the installation. Dropping the thumb drive stops the computer from booting to it when the system restarts. This might happen based on how your BIOS is set up after an installation is complete.
