I'm linked via a fast E2200 Ethernet to a power line adapter connected to a BT Smart hub that's only two weeks old. I play R6 and then suddenly lose the connection several times each night. Discord drops to a single red bar but doesn't fully disconnect. I can still hear people, but I can't speak. This happened with my old router too, so it's likely a router problem. My speeds are 33mbps down and 14mbps up. I've tried contacting BT, but they say they can't detect any issues with the line. I also ran a PowerShell command to check for connection drops while playing, but it shows no loss. Someone with similar experience might help resolve this.

He experienced connectivity problems with R6 on a 4G connection, where both the game and Discord would drop unexpectedly. After switching to an ADSL line, the issues became less frequent. Recently, he faced occasional Uplay disconnections without any apparent problems detected through ping or traceroute tests. His current internet speed test results are normal, but his in-game ping remains a concern.

Speed test shows 9ms. Game latency is roughly 15-20ms. Using a wired connection.

your connection appears much more reliable than ours. your speedtest ping is about 20, while in-game it's around 60-80. it seems the issue might be with how internet service providers route our traffic to the game servers. One member in a local group reported that using a VPN made their connection stable, though it didn't help for you or your friend during connectivity problems. if you've used a VPN service or gaming DNS provider, give it a try to check if it improves your experience.

Is this limited to R6/Discord? Would you consider testing with other multiplayer games to see if it occurs? My thought is likely weak routing by your ISP or faulty hardware. If you have a different Ethernet cable, try using it instead.

it occurs in other games too, but I don’t lose connection—it just slows down briefly. I’ve tested various Ethernet cables without success. My next move might be installing a Wi-Fi card to check for issues. If the problem persists, it could be poor routing at Baos. Everything else seems normal, including video streams and web browsing without lag.

No delay, just occasional stuttering? Any data loss? Yes, perhaps a Wi-Fi card could help. If the issue persists, it might be routing problems—consider using a VPN or DNS service.
