It's a bit tricky, but I've faced similar challenges before. The display functioned well until Windows was set up, and updating drivers helped a little. Now I'm experiencing persistent screen flickering—black to black or black to the desktop. I tried safe mode and used DDU to clear it, then reinstalled the AMD drivers, but the problem returned right away. It seems the issue could be linked to Windows not being fully updated, though I can't see the desktop to confirm. Have you encountered this before? Any tips or alternatives would be appreciated.

System details: Ryzen 9 5900, 32GB RAM, 6700XT motherboard, 512GB SSD, B550 chipset.

You haven’t encountered any problems with WHQL or the optional version. It performs well even in safe mode. The issue seems linked to the GPU drivers rather than the chipset, especially given the AMD connection.

Uncertain about what AMD suggests in their driver area. Nothing appears anymore. It’s unclear what to do. I might have to disassemble the whole system just to fit another card.

All proceeded smoothly until the drivers were added.

Even the BIOS might be the issue. If so, reset CMOS, start in safe mode, use DDU to check, and install older drivers (22.2.3 and earlier). I suggest version 21.10.2—it's quite reliable. Also, turn off driver updates in Windows Update and AMD software to prevent further changes.

Sure, just to clarify, the performance boost from the hardware might not have started yet or was incomplete before the driver was activated.

I won't accept anything less than a try. I'm planning to swap in the 6700XT for a GT710 and see how it goes. It's making me regret selling my RTX 2070 Super.
