Hi, I'm running Windows 10 and Elementary OS side by side. When I launch Elementary OS, it feels slow and the logo keeps appearing. Can you assist me?

You didn't install Windows first, so the boot manager isn't GRUB by default. After installing Elementary, the system will display a GRUB menu during startup to let you select Windows or Elementary.

I’m not sure I fully grasp what you’re asking. Are you referring to delays when starting up from elementary, or lingering on the grub menu? When it reaches elementary, does everything function properly? Could you share your system specifications? Just let me know what you’re working with so I can help further.

When I select the elementary option, it usually takes around 3 to 4 minutes for the OS to load, as seen with that model: https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/product/hp-...21/drivers @paddy-stone

It seems you're trying to figure out why elementary boots differently depending on your boot environment. You might want to verify if your system is using UEFI or GPT and adjust the installation settings accordingly. Consider reinstalling elementary and setting the boot scheme to UEFI/GPT during the USB creation process. Tools like Rufus can help with this setup.

Have an extra USB available and attempt to install elementary via UEFI/GPT settings in Rufus.

Sure, I'll try that. It seems the system is showing a GRUB menu after booting from USB.

Checked the F11 menu during startup, chose the USB port, confirmed it displays UEFI USB, verified BIOS can boot from USB since many boards support CSM despite being UEFI.
