Hello, Warzone began freezing and lagging a few weeks ago after the store update for Cold War. I attempted several fixes: limited background tasks, lowered graphics settings, reinstalled the game, updated the display driver, and reinstalled it again. Once the driver was installed, playing worked smoothly. After a short delay, I tried again and it stuttered once more. I didn’t make any system changes beyond what’s normal for daily use. When I reinstalled the graphics driver quickly afterward, everything ran perfectly. I restarted my PC and returned to play, but it froze again. I’m still trying to figure out the cause—possibly related to the display driver—and would appreciate any guidance from the community. Thank you. PC specs: i5-6600k GTX 970, NVIDIA Driver 456.38, Windows 10 1903, 1TB drive (game installed), 8GB DDR4 RAM.

I encountered the same issue using the same driver version. I deleted the driver via DDU and reinstalled 452.06. The problem disappeared.

I added the 452.06 driver and the problems still occur. It worked right after installation, but after rebooting the PC the stuttering and freezes came back. My graphics card can't use ray tracing, and in Warzone the settings are set to their minimum: refresh rate 60, resolution 1920x1080, render at 100%, texture quality very low, texture filter anisotropic low, particle quality low, bullet effects off, etc. I disabled tessellation, streaming quality, shadow map resolution, cache shadows, and particle lighting. The game runs smoothly right after the driver install but fails once the computer restarts.

I encountered this problem with MW because of insufficient memory, causing it to swap to the HDD—hard to locate. At the time, my old PC had 8 GB, so I’m upgrading to a new one. My system worked initially but later added features, increasing RAM usage and forcing swapping. My recommendation is to install more RAM. Also, for FPS games, aim for a monitor with at least 120Hz; this will reduce fatigue and improve performance.
