System Details: Ryzen 7 2700 16 GB Cosair (2x8GB) 3600MHz DDR4 RX 560 4GB Biostar B450GT3 (Latest BIOS). My RAM is limited to 2133MHz, and I checked online to enable XMP1 for full 3600MHz performance. After saving changes and restarting, the system restarted three times, displaying a CMOS Fail error on boot. I replaced the CMOS battery but it didn’t help. The problem isn’t just the RAM configuration or saving issues—it affects any settings I adjust. Appreciate your assistance ahead.
The RAM overclock issue stems from instability in the 2000 series Ryzen. The processor struggles to run RAM above 2933 MHz. My suggestion: place RAM in slots 2 and 4, turn on XMP, then lower the frequency manually to 2933. If this works, try increasing it to 3200 and see if stability returns. A voltage boost to 1.1 or 1.15 might also help.
