Problema de gráficos híbridos en la Dell Vostro 3550
Be careful with the "hd radeon 6630m." It’s not receiving updates anymore, so performance may be limited. Despite this, it appears the device is still functioning as intended.
I planned to use it for studying Linux and a few emulators. It isn’t running smoothly, and the emulators aren’t functioning properly—seems like there are no graphics drivers installed. Once I understand this, I’ll need to figure out how to switch between them or set it up to use just the ATI card. Sorry for the unclear explanation; that’s the best way I can describe it.
You shouldn't expect much performance from the ATI card since it uses an outdated driver that AMD has replaced with their GPU. The Intel iGPU should offer better results. You might try turning off the ATI card in the BIOS settings. Hybrid Graphics is still emerging in Linux and performs better on NVIDIA hardware, but most guides are outdated or missing, requiring manual setup each time you need it. Both AMD and Intel drivers come pre-installed on most distros because they’re part of the kernel and Mesa, so you likely won’t need to install anything. If you want to use the ATI card, Windows might be a better choice due to more current driver support.
Thanks for the assistance. I’m unable to turn off the ATI/AMD card in BIOS. I’ll continue using Windows because of better driver support, and the ATI GPU actually provides improved performance there.
