Hello, I installed Windows 11 on a SATA SSD that came with an NVMe (blue) drive, while keeping my previous Windows version active. The problem is that my BIOS doesn’t recognize the NVMe drive at all—it first boots using the old SATA setup and then switches to the NVMe system when I disconnect the SATA drive. When I remove the SATA SSD, the system shows zero boot devices. My motherboard is an Auros Elite B550M. It might be related to the UEFI configuration. However, if I only have the NVMe drive and try to force the BIOS to set it as UEFI-only, it reverts back to disabled when the BIOS restarts to preserve settings.

The Windows installer might not always work perfectly. It likely recognized the bootloader already on your SATA drive and chose to install it there instead of your NVMe SSD. Unplug the SATA drive and perform a fresh installation on the NVMe drive.

You can reinstall Windows on your NVMe drive without losing your data if you back up everything first. Then, after disconnecting the SATA drive, you can restore your files from the backup before proceeding with the installation.

I successfully transferred the boot loader from SATA to NVMe, and everything remained intact.
