Problema con el puerto DVI no funcionando.
My second monitor requires a VGA or DP input, but I don’t have one connected to my PC. To fix this, I connected a DVI to DP cable to convert the signal from my PC into DP. However, when I power on the monitor, no signal is sent. It shows [POWER SAVING MODE] before the screen goes black. I can tell it’s trying to connect because it would display [NO CONNECTION] otherwise. I tested the cable on another monitor, but it didn’t work there either. It seems the issue lies with the DVI output itself. If you have any suggestions or solutions, please share them—I’ll respond quickly. Feel free to reach out if you need more details, and I’m doing my best!
Most inexpensive DVI cables work one-way only, suitable just for sending a DisplayPort signal into a DVI display. This isn't a suggestion, but you'd need an active connection (like this one) to move data from your PC's DVI port to the monitor's DP output. You mentioned the GPU and monitor you're using. DVI can be analog, digital or both. If you have a DVI-A port, you'd definitely need an active converter from analog to digital. @gbkendall I think you're missing a "not" in your first sentence.
Ensure your adapter is meant for DVI to DP conversion, not vice versa. Check the forum thread here: for detailed guidance on display adapters. I already chose DVI to DP in that link.
It mentions the site stating a connection from DisplayPort to DVI. I'll review it later...
