Hey everyone, I'm looking for your input. I just swapped my old Ryzen 1600 for the new Ryzen 3700X on my MSI x370 board. I also had two 8GB Hyperx Predator RAM sticks installed before, and I was using XMP profile 1 at 2999 MHz. In Windows Task Manager it only shows 1500 MHz. It worked fine with the older CPU at that speed. What might have caused this issue? Also, I updated the BIOS before installing the new CPU.

Could it indicate the memory clock instead of the actual processing speed, where the double data rate doubles the frequency?

The display indicates 3000MHz because your system is running at a higher clock speed than the one you mentioned for the Ryzen 3700X.

DDR indicates double data rate, meaning 1500MHz equals 3000MHz

You verified the RAM rate prior to installing the updated BIOS and before the CPU upgrade. Your method for identifying the memory clock remains unchanged.

No, you're not quite interpreting it correctly. When you check xmp profiles, the chosen speed (like 3000) is confirmed to work. In Windows Task Manager, the RAM should display a 3000 MHz clock speed. Your understanding seems correct—BIOS and RAM readings align with expectations.

In Task Manager my memory appears at full speed (DDR rate), whereas CPUiD displays the actual clock time instead of the data rate, which affects how you interpret it. I’m not sure if this behavior depends on the motherboard, but I’d rely on the information from your motherboard specs rather than other sources.

You've set up CPUiD and compared its results with the BIOS data.
