Hey there, friends. I’m trying to figure out why my game runs so slow in Deathrun. I’ve got an i5 3750K at 4.1GHz and a GTX 570. I read that CS:GO is CPU-intensive but wonder if boosting it to 4.1GHz will help. My monitor shows the CPU is only at 80% usage after an hour, so I’m thinking about upgrading soon. I plan to get a new R9 390 next month and add more cooling fans—maybe even overclock it further. Right now I’m at around 30°C when idle and about 60°C with fans running at 10%. What should I do to fix this? I’ve already set the game to use just one CPU core.

I chose 1 core for efficiency and simplicity.

Just for testing, since I noticed a post suggesting that could assist

Utilize all four cores for better performance, but be careful with power limits. It's similar to a Titan X but capped at 25%, which I find unrealistic. Do you have an SSD or HDD? I experienced this issue during an antivirus scan—my HDD was nearly full (99%), causing lag when opening and closing menus in the game.

I tried it on my CS:GO setup using the SSD, with the game installed on the HDD after reinstalling Windows 10 a few days back. I also tested it on a brand-new system without any antivirus or other software. All cores were used beforehand.

I just tried it and I still face this problem when I'm in spectator mode.

Determining whether the issue stems from the CPU or GPU requires testing both components under similar conditions.

Unfortunately, it doesn't even check launch options; it's not as demanding as before but I still experience issues often :C "-nojoy -console +cl_forcepreload 1 -32bit -dxlevel90 -novid -refresh 120 -tickrate128 -fps_max 128 -fps_max_menu 128 -windowed -noborder -high -language english -threads 4 -heapsize 4194304 4194304"

Installed a new PSU (Evga 750W G2) and refreshed the BIOS, but the issue persists.
