Hello everyone, I’m facing a minor issue with my LG monitor, model 27GP850-B. Online resources don’t seem to cover it. My configuration is as follows: two PCs—one for work and one for gaming—each linked to a different monitor. The work station uses HDMI, the game station uses DisplayPort, and the game station also connects via a long HDMI cable to a TV. The LG operates at 144Hz through HDMI and 165/180(Oc) Hz via DisplayPort. It functions normally until I leave it on standby for extended periods or power it off completely. During these times, I notice strange visual artifacts when I turn on another PC in the morning. On screen, solid colored objects appear vertically pixelated, with adjacent lines differing in brightness. This effect is only visible during movement and fades quickly—often disappearing after a few minutes, even if I let my PC sleep for hours or restart it. I’ve seen similar issues with another Dell monitor, but this isn’t a major concern for me. I’ve tried resetting the monitor, using different cables, switching power supplies, adjusting overclocking, changing refresh rates, and tweaking motion settings. Still, nothing resolves it. Could anyone point out what might be causing this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I noticed identical issues across several LG monitors recently. Even the 34GN850 tested in 2021 showed the same effect. It seems this pixel inversion happens quickly after a long idle period on modern Nano IPS panels, especially with high refresh rates. Sometimes I’m puzzled by the pattern and wonder if it’s a real characteristic of these displays. I’m curious how widespread this problem is among new LG monitors and why it rarely gets discussed by owners.
