I’ve got your situation—Ryzen 5 3600x with a stock cooler running hot, and you’re considering an air cooler for better cooling. The noise issue is real, but bending the AIO pins during installation isn’t recommended unless you’re certain it won’t affect performance. If you decide to fix it, using pliers might help, but it’s best to double-check your setup before proceeding. Leaving it as is and moving away from AIOs could be a safer long-term choice if stability matters more than quiet operation.

Those pins are not that strong, so if you bend it back it could break. If you can't use the connector right now, I would say do it. You have nothing to lose. If the connector still go's on and it still works. Just keep it how it is.

The cooler typically relies on the CPU_FAN header, similar to what you're doing now, so you might not require it. However, if the connector is intact or the link between the connector and the board remains stable, you can gently reshape it.

You can simply bend the pins back. As long as they stay intact, you should be okay. However, invest in a good air cooler for a fraction of the cost compared to an AIO. You'll maintain similar temperatures, like with the Noctua NH-D15 or BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4, while reducing noise levels by half. Additionally, you avoid issues like pump failure or buildup over time.

You need to carefully manipulate the pins by bending them at a specific angle.

I wasn't aware of that. What does the aio header actually do?

Adjust them gently so they align properly. As @minibois mentioned, simply connect the aio to the fan header. Both use 4-pin PWM and should function with either option.

I also checked that, but I prefer RGB and don’t think the high-end fans from Noctua or the dark rock pro models offer much better performance.

I would employ pliers as recommended and maintain a steady grip. A tiny flathead screwdriver could also help direct the tool slightly.

Use tools or objects that allow you to reshape it in unexpected ways.
