Hey everyone! I'm trying to pick a good CPU around $200 that pairs well with a solid motherboard and supports overclocking. Since I don't want a low-end audio board like the R1200, I'm considering something like 9600kf or 3600x with a mid-range card. I already have a 2060-series board, so I was thinking about adding Intel or AMD processors, maybe two of them, and using a 2060 Super setup. Thanks for your help!

Uncertain about the problem? A $200 budget for the CPU but no funds for the board makes it tough to offer guidance. The specs you mentioned—3600x + x570 9700k + z390—seem like a mid-range gaming setup. Around the 2060s, SLI isn’t common. I use this rig mainly for folding at home. Team 234770, just a note.

I understand the chipsets for Intel and AMD. This should be better than what I had before. It seems like a solid pick for either mid-range budget or high-end motherboards depending on your CPU choice. All my previous tests showed minimal variation, but I’ve tried different boards with various RAM speeds and SSDs. If I could afford a 9700K (R7/R9 3700X-3800X), I’d go for ROG Asus Z_X or Aorus Extrime Z_X models. For a good overall build, consider reliable M.2 cooling, adequate power for your CPU, and the option to overclock if needed. Audio quality should be top-notch, ideally above 8xx Realtek. This is the final decision.
