Hey, I’ve been experiencing quite bothersome crashes across most games I play. It looks like my CPU reaches maximum usage and then the game just shuts down—sometimes even with only a small spike to 60-80%. I’ve lowered my RAM from 6400MHz to 5600MHz over about nine months, but the crashes persist. Now I’m stuck at 5400MHz, which allows launching Battlefield 2 and FIFA 23 without immediate shutdowns, though I still can’t enjoy a full game due to random crashes. Other titles like PUBG, World of Warcraft (error #132), Rocket League, and Mortal Kombat also have issues. My PC specs are: CPU 13th Gen, GPU PNY XLR8 4090, RAM G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5-6400, motherboard MSI Z790, PSU Corsair RM1200, AIO Arctic II 360, SSD 500GB Samsung 970 (Windows). I used a Gigabyte Z790 Elite AX motherboard and had the XMP profile at 6400MHz. After enabling XMP, RAM tests passed. However, official specs say up to 5600MHz, yet crashes continue. Recently, I had an unusual crash where everything froze—browser, Discord, and even my PC nearly hit a complete freeze. Task Manager showed CPU usage stuck at 100% while XMP was active. This happened when I was also using the XMP setting. Given these patterns, it seems my CPU might be struggling under load. Would you say a faulty CPU is likely the cause?

Regarding productivity tasks or Cinebench, have you experimented with playing games on one monitor?

I attempted to play FIFA and Battlefield on one monitor, as these titles caused the most crashes. I haven’t tried other games with a single display yet; Cinebench could be useful. I’ll need to give it a go.

I completed a cinebench single-core test and received 2034 points, matching typical results for other high-end CPUs (hyperthreading disabled). When I switched to multi-core testing, the application ran for roughly 4 seconds before crashing due to an error and a spike in CPU usage reaching 100%. A second attempt succeeded, lasting about 10–12 seconds with CPU temperatures staying around 90°C before termination. Here’s the bug report text from pastebin: https://pastebin.com/e0tzbnF3 Don’t worry about the “volvo” folder—I just moved it to a random location on my desktop.

Could you review that bug report and let me know what you find? I’m not very familiar with the technical details, but I’d be grateful for your help. Thanks!
