Today I improved my internet connection but face an issue: I see the old speed on my laptop while the new one appears on my smartphone. I’m using a Tp-link Archer C50 linked to my ISP modem in bridge mode, both devices connected to a 5GHz network. After resetting the modem and router, I tried connecting the laptop to the 2.4GHz network but only worked when I enabled the ISP’s modem Wi-Fi and connected there. Also, when I took my smartphone out during speed tests, it worked again.

You were checking the performance of your laptop when your ISP's WiFi was already fast. Your device was likely running a different WiFi adapter than the one connected to the high-speed network.

My new connection offers 35 Mbps while the previous one was 10 Mbps. Using any phone gives the faster speed, but connecting a laptop only provides 10 Mbps. This behavior changes when using a cable or the ISP modem/router setup. Please clarify if needed.

Have you verified the link speed on both the laptop connected to the ISP router and the Archer? I'm curious if the WiFi settings differ and why the laptop isn't performing well—like it's unusually difficult to achieve just 10Mbit at 5GHz. Look into the WiFi configurations, such as mode (802.11n vs. 802.11ac), channel, channel width, etc., to see if there are any discrepancies from the ISP router.
