I regularly shut down my PC and choose the update option. After installing, I turn it back on the next day and notice it fails to install again, displaying messages about Windows reversing the changes due to an inability to complete the update. This issue has persisted for about two weeks. It doesn’t impact normal functionality, but it’s quite bothersome since startup times increase while Windows works to undo the update. I’m using Windows 10 Pro.

Open the MS website to download the update manually. Turn off or disconnect all network connections. -Press Start, type services.msc, scroll down, right-click Windows Update, choose Stop, run the manually downloaded update, then reconnect your devices. Tell us the outcome.

It seems unclear whether this applies to Windows 10. For Windows 7, you’d need to disable automatic updates by setting Windows Update to never check for updates before installing manually downloaded patches. Restart the system and proceed with the installation.

I completed the task but now during login I’m limited to using my computer for roughly two minutes before it shuts down on its own. I don’t understand why it restarts repeatedly.

This manual aims to assist you in pinpointing or recognizing the source of the problem: https://www.kapilarya.com/disable-automa...windows-10. It should help you detect the error code responsible for the restart.
