Hello, your Windows search seems to be behaving oddly. You can find results, but you can't access them. You're running a fully updated Windows 10 Pro with Cortana turned off and web search disabled.

You're looking to access a specific file or folder. Simply locate it and select "open file location" from the context menu.

just type "word" and it appears, but clicking it doesn't trigger anything. i have to navigate through the start menu and open word manually... it works for everything.

You turned off Cortana and the Search feature. Adjustments to the registry might have led to this issue.

I installed a Windows tweak app that lets you turn off telemetry and similar features, but it also worked when Cortana was active.

The correct setup would resolve this problem. Disabling Cortana properly avoids the issue, and you can switch your device to use Search instead of Cortana without affecting the registry.

It seems the text appears on your laptop, but the language settings might be incorrect.

However, I didn't need to modify the registry for that.
