I've been dealing with this problem for a while. Occasionally my computer freezes and takes about 1-2 seconds to respond, sometimes just locks YouTube, freezes the video, then shows a black screen and restarts to a lower resolution. It can lock everything, including Chrome. I've reset it, used KEEP files, and tried many fixes, even contacting Microsoft. It seems like a simple issue, but I'm not sure. Could be a bad SSD. I'm planning to use a 5TB WD/Seagate backup drive, restore Windows, and pull any old files from it. Would that work? My system has an i5 4590, GTX 1060, 16GB RAM.

Verify your storage condition with crystaldiskinfo. A reset differs from a full reinstall, meaning a clean setup might resolve the issue.

They all seem to be good according to CrystaldiskInfo.
