Hello, I suspect you're dealing with a single issue. You're using Windows 10 and your mouse is a G502 Hero. When playing a full-screen game and pressing Alt+Tab, the game either restarts itself or waits for you to click inside before giving control back. In other cases, it hides the Task view and notifications, closing them after a short delay whether you interacted with anything or not. After trying to research for a few days, I found only a few similar posts online, mostly just confirming your experience. Anyone know how to resolve this?

I'm part of the group that thought they had their issue resolved. My concern is whether your Taskbar automatically hides when not in use. I've experienced these identical issues after a recent Windows update, even after rolling back the change. When I disabled Auto-Hide for the Taskbar, some problems disappeared, but I still needed to click through tabs—especially after switching via Alt-tab. It should clearly indicate "No tab to the NEXT thing" when entering a game or clicking from the taskbar. Sometimes, jumping between games breaks them entirely, refusing to return to the front or even crashing. Once, Persona 5 Strikers had to switch to windowed mode. Now I can easily move between non-game windows without double-checking focus. From what I understand, Microsoft seems to have made subtle but frustrating changes to Taskbar and Alt-Tab functionality. If you enable the hidden state when unused, it only partially helps.

I resolved it. This recent security patch was the one that fixed the issue for me. I only removed the general update before, but skipping the latest security update completely solved the problem on my machine. It also appeared to reinstall itself without issues, suggesting Windows might have had trouble installing both updates. If you revisit this thread, check Windows Update > View Update History > Uninstall Updates and uninstall the newest Windows Security update (KB5004237).

You encountered the same problem again after fixing KB5005033 and reinstalling the security update. The workaround from @bravetriforcer helped, though you're still concerned about missing updates. A new solution exists that avoids removing the latest security patches. Check the link provided for further details.
