Problem with Windows blocking file transfers
Problem with Windows blocking file transfers
Hi everyone, I recently installed a new computer and am trying to move my old data over. My first try was connecting the SSD from the old machine to the new one via a USB to SATA adapter and transferring everything. But permission issues stopped it, so I put the SSD back in and tried again using a USB drive. Windows now seems to be blocking me from being the admin for those files. Some can be moved, others need admin rights (which I can grant), while some refuse entirely. Could anyone suggest how to make Windows ignore these restrictions and let me access the files as before? Thanks, Callum
On the latest laptop you can claim control over files to fix access problems. This action may affect them on your previous device, though any harm appears to be resolved. A random search result shows: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/take-...e-explorer
