I've noticed my USB devices keep disconnecting and reconnecting unpredictably—sometimes every five minutes, other times every six hours. I've checked everything online, updated drivers, refreshed BIOS, and even used Device Manager to disable automatic power management, but the problem continues. It happens no matter what I'm doing, whether I'm playing games, watching YouTube, or just reading emails. I'm not sure what's causing it and don't know a permanent solution.

No, there are no Error events recorded in the Event Viewer during the USB disconnect.

I waited for the final USB disconnection and then looked in the Event Viewer around the connection time. The only entry appeared under "BTHUSB" as the source. When I read the details, it mentioned that Windows can't save Bluetooth authentication codes on the local adapter, possibly because Bluetooth keyboards might not function in the system BIOS during startup. My USB Bluetooth adapter gets updated regularly when needed. Thanks for suggesting to check the Event Viewer—I hadn’t considered that before.

Open Device Manager, select Bluetooth, click on your adapter, go to Properties/Power Management, uncheck the option to allow the computer to turn off the device to save power, then press OK and restart the computer. This method also applies to USB Mass Storage Devices using Universal Serial Bus Controllers.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this USB connectivity problem. Possible causes include weak power supply, old drivers, or hardware faults. You’ve already checked for BIOS and driver updates—what next? Restarting Windows 11 with the USB device connected might resolve the issue. Also, consider turning off USB selective suspend by going to Device Manager, expanding Universal Serial Bus controllers, right-clicking each USB Root Hub, selecting Properties, and disabling the Power Management setting. This could be a simple fix.
