This morning my main PC installed the latest 1903 May update from Microsoft. Everything seems fine so far, but I’m still having trouble getting a picture to show up on the logon screen for my account. The original image didn’t display, and I’ve tried two more attempts already—they also don’t appear. I’m wondering if others have faced this problem and found a solution or workaround since the login screen now looks empty without the usual image where I enter my PIN.

I moved to the stable non-target release some time ago, but I haven’t received the 1903 update yet. Reports suggest they updated the login screen with a visual refresh and added an option for new accounts. However, this might be relevant to you. Your profile picture might not have been synced yet, or the updates could clash with your account settings or another device. It’s also possible it’s just Windows 10 still having issues as before.

It appears the picture was removed by someone using the system. After updating the cache, clearing it resolves the issue since the image no longer exists.

I can confirm the picture wasn't removed by another user since I'm the sole person accessing the system. The folder contains only five files—each is a JPEG—and none of them are working.

Verify the location for your picture file. Ensure it's stored at C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures.
