Problem with Windows 10 performance System running slowly Possible causes and solutions
For any reason, my latest Windows 10 setup is acting sluggish after roughly three restarts. It takes about five minutes to reach the desktop after entering my password. Although I have an SSD, the machine feels very slow until I resolve the issue or someone can help. Nvidia has been attempting to download the GTX 580 driver, but it keeps failing alongside GeForce Experience. I’m unsure how to fix this. Please assist. EDIT: Now I encounter disk read errors during boot.
You might need to reinstall W10, especially for the correct drivers (the right ones can speed up boot times). 1. Get this file, run it, click next, turn off updates, verify the GTX 580 driver, then it should stop downloading that one. 2. Click the Start menu icon, go to Device Manager, 3. Select your display adapters and remove the video card driver. 4. Download the newest driver from Nvidia’s website. 5. Restart your system. 6. Install the latest Nvidia drivers and follow the on-screen steps. When installing, choose a clean install by picking Custom instead of Express and check the box that says Perform a Clean Installation.
