Ensure the specified location is free of all files. Execute the media creation tool with admin privileges. This approach has assisted many users in fixing the "Something Went Wrong" problem.

Sure, I understand. It was just a matter of clearing that folder too. I'll do it right away and try again soon.

Just hold on, it depends on whether it's a day or a month.

Are you attempting to move from Windows 7 or 8.1? If so, hold off. You’ll receive a notification once the update completes in the background. For upgrades from another operating system, consider using the ISO method. I’ve rarely succeeded with Microsoft’s automatic upgrade utilities (such as those for Office 365). A clean install from an ISO ensures Windows 10 runs at peak performance.

Starting from 8.1, I should include the update feature since I don’t have any backup material at the moment.

Consider using sfc/scannow via an admin command prompt. If your Windows 8.1 appears corrupt after the scan, reset it using the installation media. Keep Shift pressed during the restart to access the recovery options. This process may resolve issues if you haven't performed it before.
