You're facing a recurring window freezing issue on Windows 11 across multiple browsers and apps, starting after the 24H2 2024 update. The problem appears consistent whether you're using Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Discord, Visual Studio, VS Code, or Jellyfin. You've already disabled hardware acceleration in your browser settings, yet the issue persists. Insider beta builds haven't resolved it either. Your system details are clear—Ryzen 9 5900X, Radeon RX 9070 XT, 64 GB RAM, and a specific OS build number. Consider checking for background processes, adjusting display settings, or testing on another machine if possible.

The problem persisted after updating from 23h2 to 24h2, and even after reinstalling Windows, it continues. Consider reverting to a previous version or using system restore points to regain stability.

It’s unclear how this would work given Windows’ current behavior. Since the issue persists even after a full reinstall or repair, I’d investigate if it’s a hardware concern. It seems improbable, but sometimes a single RAM module could fail during an update like 24H2. How many modules are there? You can test manually with a simple method or use a tool that boots from a USB stick.

I possess two RAM modules, each with 32 GB capacity, running at 3800 MHz.

Have you considered lowering it to 3600Mhz? It performs better synchronized with the CPU's memory controller at that frequency range.

Which SSD brand and model are you using? 24H2 needs firmware updates for most of them, though not all. These are typically WD-branded drives. Make sure your motherboard BIOS is current as well. What’s the memory kit model? The CPU might struggle with the DDR4-3800 speed.

The SSD running Windows is Sabrent Rocket 4.0 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVMe drive. I also have the newest BIOS from Asus Dark Hero v.5002: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 64 GB (two 32 GB units) DDR4-3600 CL18 RAM.

They mentioned their RAM was running at 3800 but haven’t adjusted it back to the standard 3600.
