Problem with Wi-Fi adapter linking to Kali Linux.

Hello

I’m using Kali Linux with a Windows 10 dual-boot setup on my laptop. It has a built-in Wi-Fi card and doesn’t require an external adapter to connect to the internet. Still, I’d like to use a Wi-Fi adapter for Kali Linux. My main OS is Windows 10, and my laptop model is Lenovo Yoga 720. The adapter I’m using is Atheros AR9271 (IEEE 802.11B/G/N Long-Range USB Adapter).

Problem: The adapter isn’t showing up when connected to the laptop, even though it works perfectly on Windows. I’m trying to figure out how to connect it in Kali Linux.

You might be missing the firmware files for your WiFi adapter. On Debian, the relevant package is named firmware-atheros, though I’m unsure of its exact name if you’re not using Kali.

Avoid doing that. Kali isn't supposed to be installed. Have you installed the driver?

I don't understand how to set up the drivers for my adapter. I searched online, but all the instructions are for Windows.

The Debian wiki provides a reference that likely works for Kali as well. However, it's important to use Kali only with a live pendrive or a virtual machine.

They didn't edit the sources.list file. The error is clear from the second image.

You're correct, I updated it now and there were no errors. However, I'm still having trouble connecting the Wi-Fi adapter. I attempted to connect the adapter to Kali Linux inside a virtual box, but I received this error message.
