Problem with Wi-Fi adapter and Task Manager clock speed W10
I've got the Netgear A6210 3.0 Wi-Fi adapter and it comes with a Windows 10 driver. When I try to install the software, it just halts after the installer disappears, stays visible on the taskbar but doesn't open anything, and the preview shows white. Uninstalling it works the same way. Some system tools freeze or stop responding, and my Task Manager lists a clock speed of 5.72 GHz while the maximum is 4.5 GHz. CPU-Z confirms it's showing 4.5 GHz. Anyone have any advice on how to fix this issue? I just upgraded yesterday and needed to connect my brother's PC to mine for internet access.
Ignore task managers cpu speed problems, its a bug thats quite widespread and happens to many people. Nothing to worry about. Just use different monitoring software to check it if you ARE worried. CPU-Z for example.
The Netgear Genie software isn’t working well right now. If you need a way to use this adapter without Netgear, there might be an alternative method. Since the download page seems misleading, I can’t provide the firmware or drivers directly. Just to be safe, I hope you’re not going to lose your i5 from this hassle—lol
