Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out a issue with my setup. The specs look good: ASUS Prime x570 CPU, AMD Ryzen 5800x, 3080ti GPU, Gigabyte Vision OC RAM, 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance 3200Mhz SSD, 970 EVO Plus 1TB, and a Corsair RM850 power supply.
Midway through a game session, the video stopped suddenly—audio stayed, but I couldn’t control the screen. After turning it off and back on, the problem repeated. I restarted once more, but the issue persisted.
To confirm, I swapped the GPU with a 3060ti from another machine. It worked fine. The other machine still had intermittent video output before disappearing entirely.
I suspect the 3080ti might be faulty and decided to send it back to Canada for replacement using the store warranty. They found the same problem on their end—no video, fans spinning, lights blinking—but they honored the warranty and replaced it with a ROG Strix 4070ti.
I’m testing a 3070ti now, but results are still unclear. My guess is either the BIOS firmware needs updating or a factory reset would help. I’m open to tips from anyone who’s faced the same situation.
