USB front I/O port 3.0 on x2 isn't functioning properly. Plugging in the phone works, but the computer doesn't detect it. The motherboard model is MSI B250M Bazuka.

Does the port connect with additional USB peripherals? (such as thumb drives)? If not, verify that the front USB cable is correctly inserted into the header. If it functions with other devices, ensure your phone is configured for file transfer mode or MTP (assuming you intend to send files). I've encountered problems where a connected phone isn't recognized by a computer before; this was the solution.

The setup doesn't respond to any mouse or keyboard. I verified and repositioned the front USB cable to the motherboard, but the port remains active yet no devices are connected.

It might indicate a damaged USB port on the front panel or a faulty motherboard header (rare). It’s hard to verify without additional equipment since the board only features a single USB 3 connector.

Sure, thanks for the response. I plan to acquire additional hardware for testing in the future.

You might want to check the USB 3 ports on the motherboard. The issue could be with the USB 3 controller.
