I posted just before setting up Linux Mint on my laptop. The installation went smoothly for a few weeks. Now I’m considering switching to Ubuntu. I created a bootable USB and tried the installer multiple times, but it kept failing. After rebooting and removing the USB, my BIOS reported “no bootable device found.” I’ve also attempted to manually format and partition the C drive without success. In short, Ubuntu won’t install.

Ubuntu lacks a traditional C drive. It seems your BIOS might be mixed up between older and newer boot methods.
