Problem with the USB Type-C hub device.
Problem with the USB Type-C hub device.
Hello, newcomer in the forums. This might seem a simple question but I'm struggling with a USB Type-C hub that has two USB 2.0 ports and an HDMI port. The USB is functioning perfectly, but the HDMI isn't connecting. In Windows Device Manager I see an error saying "Unknown USB device (Link in compliance mode)." After updating Windows with the latest update and downloading the latest drivers from ASUS support, it still doesn't work. What else should I try? Also, my laptop is an Asus Vivobook S14 S410.
The hub is typically from a specific manufacturer. This issue often stems from an old driver, which isn't resolved by Windows updates or the laptop driver settings. You should contact the hub's manufacturer for assistance.
Thank you! Since it's a generic brand, there isn't a specific site to download the drivers from.
Consider testing driver booster 9 to see if it resolves the issue. If you're using a USB drive, attempt a safe removal through the clock icon—disconnect the drive, then the hub, and finally the hub itself. After reconnecting the hub, test HDMI without the USB drive.
I saved bootser 9 and checked all drivers, but it’s still not functioning. I’m unsure if the problem lies with the dock or the laptop itself. Can you verify if your laptop supports HDMI via a USB-C hub? Also, note that your laptop has an HDMI port and it works with external monitors.
I couldn't locate any information confirming or denying compatibility. Would you like me to test the dock on another device? You could also reach out to Asus support for guidance.
