Problem with the SSD not displaying.
I recently assembled my own system, including transferring the SSD from my laptop into my new desktop. It’s a Crucial MX500 2.5". After installation, it doesn’t appear in disk management. I suspect it might be listed in the BIOS, though I’m not sure. My computer specs are available here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TtZLQ6. I updated the BIOS to the latest version (F2). The old SSD was already installed before this upgrade.
Open the BIOS settings and verify whether your motherboard blocks any SATA connections when an M.2 device is connected.
The motherboard documentation will indicate whether any SATA ports are turned off during M.2 installation, not BIOS settings. The PCIe 4.0 x16 is your graphics card, not an SSD. Look in the "SATA" section adjacent to the PCIE section. What appears under System Info?
I’d test various SATA ports until it appears in the BIOS. Have you linked the SATA power cable to the SSD via your PSU? Is the SATA data cable properly attached to both the SSD and the motherboard?
