Hello Everyone, I recently purchased a PS3 for around £5 (about $7). When I attempt to power it on, I immediately hear three beeps and the red light continues to flash indefinitely. Do you know if there’s a clear way to resolve this issue? Thanks!

Comes from the PlayStation community. Looks like you just acquired a dead console, likely explaining the low price you paid. New PlayStation 3 models are selling for roughly $80 to $100. "Why won’t my PS3 beep three times and then fail to power on? Three beeps signal a POST failure (PS3 version). This usually points to a terminal issue with the device, often due to overheating that has loosened the GPU or CPU connections, making it a frequent cause of the infamous YLOD."

Unfortunately no. It is considered a terminal failure. If it was due to overheating and the CPU or GPU has become unseated, it's not at all simple. The PS3 CPU and GPU are micro soldered to the board and are not re-seatable after that solder has become broken. Only repairable avenue to take would be to replace the mainboard and that would be just as expensive if not more than just buying a working unit for around $80.

Not worth it, honestly. I already have the same person for £10 with a controller.

Great for you, that's exactly what I've noticed in my local market. You were here to get help, so don't be rude when someone tells you what you don't want to hear. Just grab a working one from your friend, the broken one is a waste.
