I purchased an i7-9700k on eBay to swap in for my i3-9100. The system boots normally with the i3 but fails when trying to boot the i7. The lights on the motherboard flash to the CPU LED then jump to the VGA LED and stay there. After disconnecting the GPU, I attempted to run the PC using integrated graphics without success. I suspect a power supply issue since my 500W Smart Thermaltake PSU has an extra 4-pin 12V connector that wasn’t used. The D-tier PSU’s behavior suggests the new CPU might not be getting enough power. Could it also be a faulty processor? Thanks!
