I recently purchased a used i7 4790 to swap out my i5 4440S. I’m using a prebuilt ASUS M11AD, and every time I power on the PC everything boots up but the monitor remains dark. I’ve downloaded and installed the latest BIOS, yet the issue persists. After trying it myself, the old CPU still worked perfectly. I found out from ASUS that they wrote special code for the M11AD to prevent new CPUs from being installed without permission. Should I try any solutions to fix this without buying a new motherboard?

Prebuilt machines aren't always compatible with CPUs using the same socket. They help keep costs lower by avoiding heavy testing on CPUs, RAM, and SSDs like consumer motherboards. You usually need a different board, and there aren't simple hacks or user-friendly options for regular people.
