I recently purchased an Alienware Aurora R6 and chose Windows 10 Pro during setup. The machine arrived, I installed everything, booted into Windows Mint, installed my Steam games, and went to bed for work. In the morning I used the computer and encountered an error—my local account password was incorrect. After several attempts, it locked me out. Eventually I decided to use a pirated Windows 10 Pro copy and used the serial number from the box. I created a GPT USB with Rufus, disabled secure boot in BIOS, performed the UEFI installation. After setup, I turned it off, returned to BIOS, enabled secure boot, and reinstalled the system. A system update was necessary because the pirated version wasn’t current. After restarting, the issue returned—password worked correctly, but I still faced problems. I tried using the space bar as a temporary workaround and avoided touching anything after setup. I attempted to remove the password via CMD, but it didn’t work either. This seems to be a specific Alienware problem or possibly a hardware issue. I plan to try the setup again once I’m home without any password, just to observe the outcome. For now, I need a working password before using the computer for sensitive work files. Any advice on resolving this?

After configuring without a password, the system let me restart smoothly. I added a password to the local account via settings, rebooted, and it now functions correctly. It seems the problem lies with the setup or hardware preventing proper password recognition post-reboot. Reading about this suggests using CMD to remove the password, logging in without one, and then setting a new one—this should resolve the issue. Everything points to a connection between the Creators Update and this behavior.
