Problem with the mainboard not responding.
Hello, I am hoping to find support here. so I wondering if my motherboard is just completely dead. It’s a z370-s01 m-atx. I have tryed powering it on, but no response from the system. not even a led light up or fan spin. It is a shame the motherboard looks so clean, however after closer inspection of the cpu bay pins. I noticed one single pin missing from the upper left corner area… now I am wondering if the motherboards not responding because of that or if the bios is blocking its start up due to cpu compatibility issues. For example, does the bios only support i3-8100, i5-8400, or i7-8700? I am using an i5-8500. so question, even if there is a cpu compatibility problem or one missing pin, should the system at least run electricity through it and power on leds and fans? i am getting nothing. it dead? Or is it a cpu compatibility issue? I have tested the basic operation components cpu, ram in other motherboards and they boot fine.
A missing pin is likely the issue. Could you share a picture of your socket?
PSU passed initial testing with multiple setups. The CPU bay pin on the motherboard is absent or difficult to locate. This might block power delivery to other parts like LEDs, error lights, and fan headers needed for startup. It could indicate a short circuit or compatibility problems with the CPU.
There are no compatibility concerns; the 8500 works with the board.
