Hi, your setup looks correct but the installation is failing. Try using a different PCIe slot if available. Ensure the 1TB drive is placed in the first available slot and that all other slots are free. Also, verify the BIOS settings for proper boot priority. If issues persist, check the drive connections and power supply stability.

Reviewing the guide, it seems there’s no restriction on the motherboard regarding the number of SATA ports in use or potential disabling during M.2 installation. The Z690 chipset offers ample bandwidth for all this storage. However, M.2_2 supports PCIe Gen 3.0 and M.2_3 supports PCIe Gen 4.0, which should be visible in the BIOS for these slots. There’s a lot of activity happening here. Could you confirm if the system boots up with the new 1TB Samsung 980 Pro? Any issues or glitches there as well? If yes, it might point to the drive itself.

This card enables you to increase M.2 storage using CPU PCIe lanes and PCIe splitting. Would you like to eliminate the OS drive and the 250GB Samsung 980 Pro, then restart with only this new drive in place? Are you ready to bypass the splash screen and press Enter or insert bootable media? (You probably see that message.)

You can still boot Windows after removing the 250GB Samsung 980 Pro. The other M.2 drives are already in the ROG Hyper M.2 card, so you don’t need to take them out from the case.

Try accessing BIOS without the OS installation. If it remains stuck with the new drive, the issue likely stems from a faulty disk.
