I own an older machine I built for my brother. It won’t boot into the OS even though the hard drive functions properly on other systems. When I power it on, it jumps straight to the reboot menu and asks for a boot device or boot media. Inserting a USB doesn’t help, and I can’t get it to enter BIOS. After removing the CMOS battery, the PC won’t turn on at all. I’m trying to figure out how to fix this issue. The specs are: 5820K, ASRock Extreme 4 x99 board, GTX 1070, Seasonic Focus +Gold 650W PSU.

If you have several RAM sticks, take them out. Start the computer with just one, and if that doesn’t work, try starting without any and then reinsert the stick. Make sure you place it in slot 0. The issue might be due to a forced legacy boot setting or trying UEFI on an older device.

Attempted the RAM stick installation but it didn't work. Considering a replacement motherboard might be the best option.

The BIOS recognizes the drive and the boot option priorities list it as "Boot option one," while the boot manager displays nothing. This inconsistency may be due to incorrect settings or driver issues. Check the NVME configuration, ensure the correct priority is set, and verify the boot manager interface settings. If needed, reinstall the driver or update the firmware.

These older boards may lack optimal NVME support. Consider updating the BIOS, provided you're confident there won't be any disruptions nearby and your motherboard can handle BIOS flashback.
