Hello, I recently bought an Asus Prime Z-790P D4 motherboard, paired with fresh memory modules (Corsair CMH32GX4M2D3600C18 Vengeance RGB Pro SL 2x16GB DDR4-3600MHz CL18 1.35V) and a CPU (Intel i5-12400F). Unfortunately, the board isn’t turning on. When I power it up, the power indicator starts flashing quickly, then slows down slightly, and eventually stops completely. The blinking continues until the computer is turned off. I shared this issue on YouTube: https://youtube.com/shorts/FMNFBpoGUdA?feature=share.

According to Asus support FAQ (https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1047023/), here’s what the blinking means:
- Fast blinking: No DRAM detected
- Slow blinking: No VGA detected
- Very slow blinking: No boot device detected

I tried several fixes: removed a second RAM stick and tried one with just the first, connected the HDMI directly to the motherboard, and even bypassed the CPU by using an external graphics card. Since my CPU lacks integrated graphics, those attempts failed. I cleared CMOS by touching the pins with a screwdriver, then removed the battery for about ten minutes.

I upgraded from a 4th-gen CPU and older board (Asus 497M-E) to a newer one (Prime Z790P D4). I also tried installing Windows 10 via USB, but the system wouldn’t boot and gave no feedback.

I downloaded the latest BIOS from Asus, copied it onto a formatted USB drive, and used the BIOS rename tool. Despite all these steps, the power button still showed the same pattern. The warranty is still active, but the store I bought from has a long return process—often 2 to 3 weeks. I’m considering using the warranty option only if necessary.
