Problem with system fans not matching motherboard connectors
Problem with system fans not matching motherboard connectors
Hi, I began assembling a PC for my dad today but realized the fan connectors don’t match the headers on my motherboard. I’ve tried all possible fixes so far, which is why I’m reaching out for advice. The board I’m using is the Gigabyte Aorus B560i pro AX, and you can see the headers and fan connectors in the attached photos. I really appreciate any suggestions or solutions you can offer.
The board should include a set of fan extension cables. The connectors are not the usual type and need these extensions to work with regular fans. It’s surprising they didn’t just add standard connectors. You can view the connector here (timestamped link).
I can only assume it's for space savings as it's ITX, but they're really not that much smaller. It's not like they've included/require proprietary fans so can't see any monetary reasons for it in terms of trying to encourage sales for another product.
I know this is an old one, but I'm guessing someone here might have a clue. I have an Aorus H470i that has this same thing with the sys fan headers being tiny. I bought it used a while ago and only have 1 adaptor... they seem to be the same as the ones used for GPU fans right? Something like this seems like the right replacement, anybody here got any clues?
