Resolved this way: turned off CPU boost in BIOS. Logged straight into Windows without more problems—though it ran at 3.6GHz instead of the usual 4.7. Probably the power draw from the PSU is the issue, since my unit only has a 4-pin connector, not the higher ones. I’ll confirm tomorrow when I get a new PSU. Stay tuned!
I previously owned an FX 8120 with a very inexpensive motherboard (no VRM heatsink, etc.) and frequently overclocked it. The VRMs became extremely hot, causing it to throttle or crash more often than expected—this happened after significant overclocking. I’m not sure the VRMs were the problem right away; it seemed to occur only a few seconds after startup. We’ll understand better tomorrow once I install a new PSU. I’ll keep you informed.
It wasnt the PSU. I changed to a Corsair 650w one, with 8+4 pins, but the problem persists. I read somewhere that it might be a volage issue; Someone told me this: You need to enable PBO, set stock limits 142-95-140 and test with CoreCycler until you are error free. Yo will need a positive offset for your best cores, that is the reason you are crashing. All your hardware is ok, the problem is your motherboard is sending wrong voltages, you need to manually calibrate your cpu using the Curve Optimizer. CoreCycler will help you finding wrong voltages. I will try this now.
