You've just assembled your initial PC and managed to boot into the BIOS using a single Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5. However, when you attempt to connect both drives together in a 64GB configuration, the system displays an error labeled "USB hot plug." Adjusting to XMP1 and 2 settings didn't resolve the issue, except for the need to keep the power button pressed for an extended period before shutting down.

What components are you installing? Which slots are available? Are there any known issues with the other port? We're here to assist you.

ROG Maximus Z790 Hero HAF 700 EVO i9-13900KS Cooler Master MasterLiquid PL360 Flux Samsung 990 PRO NVMe M.2 SSD 2TB ROG Thor 1200W Platinum II Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5 64GB ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition I'm using the second and last slot. All slots function and both drives operate. Should I need to update BIOS or firmware? My mainboard came with a thumb drive containing these items.

BIOS has been updated so both drives function together, but not in XMP mode. Each operates in XMP separately. The issue lies in the XMP functionality not being supported.

XMP doesn't always function properly. Adjust the timing and speed manually instead, or simply apply XMP and slightly lower the speed manually. It can sometimes be more stable. Purchasing computer parts is like playing the lottery—you don't always get what you want.
