Hey guys, I took a break to clean my PC and install a new CPU cooler on my Ryzen 5 3600x. I’ve been using the original one since purchase, but it wasn’t working well. I bought a cheaper model from Amazon (Cooler Master HyperT20) and tried installing it today. There were some issues because this cooler uses a hook system—applied a lot of pressure, even bending the heatsink. After finishing the build, the computer wouldn’t power on while I checked for problems. I considered removing the CPU and trying to boot without it, which worked. But when I put it back in and pressed power, nothing happened. I’m open to suggestions or next steps, even though I’m pretty sure it’s a dead end. I’ve attached some photos of the heatsink. Thanks for your help!

Nah bro, i aint THAT dumb hahaha, if you're looking for the golden arrow it sits under it, and on the other side. Still, it wouldn't even fit if it was sideways...

The processor isn't fully seated in the socket. It's positioned near the edges, as if it was inserted using the holding clamp.

Just to confirm, I placed the CPU on top of the socket without locking it first, then turned it on. It shut down only when I tried to lock it, so it’s unclear if the issue is with the CPU or the motherboard socket. Video attached below. 20240604_191440~3.mp4

This image was taken shortly after installing the cooler. I'm confident the CPU is correctly seated and only activates when the latch engages. I've attached a video I recorded now demonstrating proper seating and activation. Thanks for your support! I'd appreciate having another CPU to verify if the issue lies elsewhere.

Remove the CPU and inspect for damaged pins. If there are no bent pins, it likely means you overpressured the socket while fitting the cooler. The cooler probably wasn’t stressed enough during installation.

It seems like the issue might be with the motherboard, though I'm not entirely sure. I'd love to have a better way to confirm it.
