I recently started learning about computers and built one myself. I expected some issues, so here’s the situation: the PC isn’t turning on, and neither are the peripherals getting power. There’s also a red mark on the motherboard. I’m using an Aorus B450 M with a Ryzen 5 5600G. Any advice?

It seems I didn’t verify if I was seeing it, though I thought it might be new and shouldn’t cause issues. I need to check my USB drive and then I’ll know more.

I doubt this board includes Qflash Plus, a term used by Gigabyte for BIOS flashback. You'll need a matching CPU to update the BIOS. Do you have someone who can borrow an older CPU? The box claims compatibility with which Ryzen generation? I believe Gigabyte lists the BIOS version on the side of the package.

Luckily, you have several options for a compatible CPU—any 1000, 2000, or 3000 series AMD processor will work. Are there local repair services nearby that could lend a CPU or handle the BIOS update?

Check the BIOS version order before flashing. You might not be able to upgrade directly to the latest version.
