Hello everyone, a friend attempted to clean his PC but ended up focusing on the GPU using a fine brush. He also handled the CPU a bit too much, but later decided not to touch it—just unplugged the CPU fan cable. The machine would start for a couple of seconds before shutting down completely, without showing any image on the display or motherboard. After that, he removed the GPU, cooler, and CPU, reassembled everything carefully (including replacing the paste on the CPU). He tried removing and reinserting the components again. He checked RAM, ports 1-3 instead of 2-4, tested most cables, and confirmed he inspected everything he touched. What advice would you give him? He contacted a technician who suggested checking if the RAM was installed correctly and ensuring the GPU receives adequate power. It might be worth closing the system to rule out hardware issues.

Check each RAM stick one by one in every slot, because RAM can sometimes behave unpredictably. Reset the CMOS and follow the most straightforward advice—make sure all connections are secure.

While adjusting the brush, he slightly moved the ram by manipulating the lever that secures it. For better safety next time, consider using an air can to clean your PC.

Be mindful of compressed air as well; it may occasionally harm the fans.

Keep your fans stationary during blower or compressed air use—it's safer than using a brush. Dropping a surface-mounted part would cause it to be sucked in.
